Heat heat go away...

It was up into the mid 90s already and we hadn't had rain in weeks.  Our grass is so dry that I came in from mowing covered in dirt from riding through many dust clouds kicked up by the mower.  I've been watering daily for weeks now.

At long last, I was wide awake from 2:00 this morning until I was lulled to sleep by the enticing rumble of thunder and the tinkling of rain drops falling over the roof vent of the range hood.  For the first time in weeks, we've had a lovely soaking.  It stayed dreary gray nearly all day.  The forecast calls for NUMEROUS showers and thunderstorms tonight and  then scattered showers and thunderstorms after midnight.  How beautiful those words sound to me.

WEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL....

School's OUT!!!!  Yippeeeeeee!  I'm one of the few parents that's excited that school is finally out.

One might think I'm just glad because I'm a teacher and wanted it to be over months ago, or even that I'm glad 'cause it's already in the 90s and humid and I'm very pregnant and I just don't want to leave the house much anymore (particularly since in Florida the school hallways are open air -read that as wet in the rain, muggy in the heat, and cold in the winter).  In all actuality, I'm always excited for the school breaks.  I love having my kid at home.  I love not worrying about supervising homework and planning my life around the school day.  I love being able to sleep past 5:00 a.m. during the week.  I love being lazy if I feel like it AND I'm hugely pregnant and tired of school.

Next sonogram is June 8th.  So far Mom and Baby are both very healthy.  I have to go next week to pre-register at the hospital and to the lab for the Glucose Tolerance Test -YECH!  I hate labs, I hate hospitals and I REALLY HATE the taste of that nasty ultra sweet drink they give you to test for gestational diabetes.

Oh well.  What's new with all of you??????????????

Okay, okay...
